Hydropower Station Project
Hydropower is electricity generated by the production of power through use of the gravitational force of falling or flowing water. Most hydroelectric power comes from the potential energy of dammed water driving a water turbine and generator. In this case the energy extracted from the water depends on the volume and on the difference in height between the head and the water's outflow. This height difference is called the head. The amount of potential energy in water is proportional to the head.
Therefore, the form of hydroelectric plant is decided by the method to collect head, depends on different ways such as by damming, drawing and mixed style. The turbine is core engine of the plant, which can be defined as the Kaplan Turbine, Francis Turbine, Tubular Turbine, Diagonal Flow Turbine, Pelton Turbine, Inclined Jet Turbine and Cross Flow Turbines.
